The newspapers pointed out that the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah had briefed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on the outcome of his European tour.
Cairo-based al-Akhbar said the Kingdom has been adopting a realistic and open policy which matches the continuous changes and developments in the third millenary.
The paper said the visit of King Abdullah to the Vatican and his meeting with the Pope were greatly highlighted in the Christian world, and added that the visit of the Saudi Monarch to the Vatican will positively contribute to narrowing the gap between the Muslim and Christian worlds.
Al-Akhbar said the talks of King Abdullah in Cairo had covered the future of the Arab and Muslim nation as well as the problems of Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria.
The paper noted that the Saudi-Egyptian Summit comes at the most suitable time on the eve of the forthcoming international peace conference.
Meanwhile, the paper said the meeting of King Abdullah with President Mubarak will serve bilateral relations as well as the Arab nation.
It described the Saudi-Egyptian relations as distinguished relations, because the two countries are linked with bonds of history, geography, language, creed and traditions.
The daily pointed out to the will of Late King Abdulaziz in which he had asked his sons to maintain durable relations with Egypt, and added the sons of King Abdulaziz have been following and implementing the will of their great father.
On its part, Cairo-based al-Jamhouriya newspaper said the Saudi-Egyptian coordination is based on mutual understanding.
It noted that the visit of King Abdullah to Cairo comes at a time when complicated regional and international circumstances exist.
The paper noted that King Abdullah during his European tour had emphasized the Arab principles pertaining to the settlement of the Palestinian problem.
It underscored the importance of the visit of King Abdullah to the Vatican and said the King and the Pope had condemned violence and terrorism, and called the countries of the world to cooperate for confronting this dangerous phenomenon.
Pointing out to the Egyptian and Saudi stand during the crises of the occupation of Kuwait in 1990, Al-Jamhouriya said that Egypt and the Kingdom are keen on coordinating their efforts for solving the problems facing the Arab nation.
Citing the problems facing the Arab world, the paper said they include the American invasion of Iraq and the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The daily said the Saudis and Egyptians follow their words with deeds.
The newspapers quoted Suleiman Awad, the spokesman for the Republic' s Presidency, as saying the Saudi-Egyptian Summit had provided a good opportunity to discuss various Arab, regional and international problems, and the Saudi and Egyptian views were identical on the various problems in the light of the existing coordination between the foreign ministries in the two countries.
