Dubai: EBV Elektronik, Europe's leading specialist in semi conductor distribution, is entering the regional market partnering with Sky Electronics to expand is business and presence.
"We see a huge potential in this market. That's why we are opening a regional sales and support office in Dubai in partnership with Sky Electronics to bring technology to this region," Slobodan Puljarevic, senior vice president and director for sales and marketing at EBV Elektronik.
"We have a big technology community behind us that will help support this region's needs in the coming years."
EBV last year recorded sales revenues of 998 euros and has a 20.23 per cent market share in Europe, the Middle East and Africa's semiconductor market.
The global semi conductor market is estimated at more than $250 billion, growing 4 to 18 per cent depending on regions.
Manoj Thacker, managing director of Sky Electronics, said the market potential for semi conductors in the region is between $2 and $3 billion.
"As we grow, we have plans to enlarge our base here and bring in technology that suits the market."
As Dubai grows and becomes more hi tech, new semi conductor manufacturers and distributors aggressively look towards the Middle East's emerging market potential, officials said.
While European market remains flat, more and more companies are looking at emerging markets.
