E-Vision, the UAE's sole digital cable TV provider, has added Gemini TV, thus becoming the sole provider of India's No.1 Telugu satellite channel in the region.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, E-Vision's chief executive officer, said the new channel is a great addition to E-Vision's offerings.
"Our decision to bring Gemini on board has been taken after the company's toll-free line and website received large numbers of enquiries about this popular channel," added Sahoo.
Broadcasting from Chennai in India, Gemini TV was earlier encrypted but is now available only on E-Vision's Basic Package and as part of the A La Carte menu.
The channel has the best library of Telugu blockbuster movies and its soaps enjoy the highest viewership in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and elsewhere.
Gemini TV also features several live interactive programmes. Its unique concepts and talent shows have made it the most watched channel in Telugu-speaking households.
E-Vision has recently added e-FirstNet and e-Pehla packages that offer viewers the latest in sports, movies and action, and viewers in the UAE have enjoyed the Cricket World Cup 2003 live and exclusive on Fox Sports and Pehla Plus.
Additional premium channels like STAR Plus and STAR Movies offer viewers the best in Asian and Western entertainment.
The E-Vision digital cable TV platform in the UAE comprises over 150 high quality channels which include movies, sports, news and eView pay per view service that cater to the needs of the diverse population of the UAE.
E-Vision's basic package of over 75 channels is offered for as little as Dh50 per month and the Showtime Cable packages, ART Cable, e-Pehla and e-FirstNet packages, in addition to the A La Carte menu, offer E-Vision customers even greater choice and flexibility of viewing.
An interactive games channel, offering a choice of five games 24 hours a day, is also available free of charge to all subscribers, with further interactive services such as the Electronic Programme Guide planned for the near future.
E-Vision is currently available in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
