Dubai, 27 March 2009 (WAM) - The first female judge to work in Dubai courts has taken the oath of office before Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Judge Ibtisam Rashid Badwawi was sworn in today, along with other four judges. They are: Ayoub Ali Hatem Ahli, Ahmed Abdul Wahid Al Ali, Salem Mohammed Al Qaidi and Mohammed Abbas Al Raisi. Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the new judges and urged them to discharge responsibilities in administering justice without fear or favour and to strictly adhere to standards of fairness and neutrality. He welcomed Ibtisam Badwawi as the first national judge in Dubai courts and praised her sound career choice. He added that such step would pave the way for female graduates to join the judiciary.
