Dubai, March 22nd, 2012 (WAM) -- The Dubai World Trade Centre next month will host AGRA Middle East 2012, the largest agri-business annual trade event in the Middle East region.
AGRA Middle East is supported by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, Dubai Municipality, the Dubai Flower Centre, and the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech). Organized by Informa Exhibitions - Middle East, AGRA Middle East 2012 will run from 2 to 4 April and showcase the latest advancements in agriculture and irrigation, animal husbandry and poultry farming, horticulture and floriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, and agricultural machinery. Prof. Abdulaziz Al Harbi, of King Saud University in Saudi Arabia has said amid an increasing population and climate change affecting agriculture, food as a strategic resource and commodity is a challenge that GCC countries must overcome together. "Improving the cooperation at the government level first followed by private companies can help overcome management constraints and help build a long-term sustainable agriculture industry."Al Harbi, who is a professor of Horticulture will speak about sustainable agricultural systems in the GCC at the Agribusiness Outlook Forum a feature of AGRA Middle East. Now in its second year, the Agribusiness Outlook Forum will feature a panel of international experts presenting delegates with a platform to discuss insights into food security and sustainable agricultural systems.
