Maktoum is chairman and Al Qamzi appointed deputy chairman

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree restructuring the board of directors of the Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI).

As per the decree, Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, is the chairman of DMI, while Sami Al Qamzi has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman.

The new board includes Awad Hadher Al Muhairi, Mona Ganem Al Merri, Jamal Huwairib, Amina Al Rustamani, Abdul Hamid Juma, Hala Badri, Mohammad Saif Al Meqbali and Ali Sultan Al Haddad.


Shaikh Mohammad also issued another decree appointing Mona Al Marri as Director General of the Dubai Government's Media Office. He also issued a resolution appointing Ahmad Saeed Al Mansouri as Director General of DMI TV channels, while Da'en Shaheen as Director General for DMI's Publishing Sector.

The appointments came during a meeting with local media leaders at the premises of Dubai Government's Media Office, in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and DMI Chairman, and other officials.

Shaikh Mohammad underlined the importance of implementation of decentralisation policies and decentralised management, in order to allow for creativity and innovation and get rid of red tape and complicated procedures, as well as to prepare and well train the second and third-ranked leaders in line with the Dubai Government's strategy.
