Damascus, (SANA)- Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi affirmed that Syria's stockpile of food and consumer materials is enough to provide the citizens' needs for more than a year.
During a weekly meeting of the Cabinet on Tuesday, al-Halqi pointed out that there are current and future plans to increase the strategic reserve and make the various materials available in the markets.
He reiterated the government's determination to pursue the manipulators of the Syrian pound's price against foreign currencies and take deterrent measures against the violators.
Premier al-Halqi noted that specific measures will be taken in the future to gradually reduce the price of Dollar against the Syrian pound, which is currently set at SYP 185, until reaching the normal exchange rate.
In the framework of the meeting, the Cabinet approved a draft law ratifying an agreement on reception of data for reception ground station that was signed with Russia on May 30, 2013.
The agreement came in the framework of setting up a reception ground station for satellite data in Syria.
