Dubai, 29th Nov. 2010 (WAM) -- Dubai Quality Group (DQG) and Dubai Courts today hosted a high-level delegation from the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai.

DQG discussed with EFQM the various methods of using global excellence standards to improve and optimize government and private work in addition to adopting a methodical way through performance comparison with global organizations.

On the sidelines of the visit, DQG and Dubai Courts organized a cultural symposium to identify the European Model of Quality Management. The event was attended by several representatives of public and private sectors as well as department managers, sections directors, quality development experts and a number of experts and stakeholders.

Dr. Wafi Dawood, DQG Chairman, delivered a speech at the event followed by another speech given by Dr. Ahmed Al Hazeem, Dubai Courts director general. On the other hand, Carla Guerra, EFQM representative, reviewed the guidelines and principles of the European model, its basic concepts and the mechanisms of implementing thereof in organizations.

EFQM model constitutes one of the key frames to help organizations enhance their competitive abilities and achieve excellence as the most important standard. It's also a significant tool to evaluate employees' occupational status within organizations and determine the level of progress and robustness. The model provides a tool for supporting organizations to best balance and weigh their priorities and employ human resources and develop actual action plans for managing such organizations.

DQG organizes this event with a view to sharing experience of improving government and private work an make it to the highest levels of quality, competitiveness and production through employing systems and drafting legislation proved to be successful in the European Quality Model in line with the local needs of the UAE and the high position it occupies in human development, organizational excellence and sustainable development.
