Itqan, one of the leading systems integrator and solution providers, announced it has integrated the latest electronic document management system (EDMS) to meet Dolphin Energy Ltd's (DEL) corporate requirements in managing engineering design documents.
The system ensures that information can be easily shared, archived and routed to the right people at the right time, often across international borders.
"We had two main objectives increasing efficiency and decreasing costs and we required a technology system that could grow in size as Dolphin develops. Itqan had a wealth of experience in similar projects and understood our requirements," said Ebrahim Lari, DEL vice-president of IT and Automation, in a statement.
"This, coupled with their proven project methodologies, was the deciding factor in selecting them as our project manager."
DEL's main objective was to improve operating efficiency and speed-up business processes by facilitating an effortless exchange and communication of engineering design documents between organisational entities and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors while ensuring security.
"For Dolphin Energy, we realised that they had a future requirement for business management software solution, yet unimplemented," said Ehab Sahili, Itqan chief executive. "We not only comprehended their present needs but we also envisioned their projected future requirements and this is how we built our solution."
The finished solution offers DEL a collaborative work environment combining an electronic document management system to store all the company's records, a workflow tool that allows Dolphin to route documents for review, approval and action, and a communications tool to push any new information added to the system.
Earlier the Abu Dhabi-based Mobile Telecom Group yesterday announced it has signed an enterprise resources planning implementation agreement with Itqan Al Bawardi Computers.
Through this agreement Itqan, a Microsoft Gold partner and solutions provider, will provide licences and professional services to install and implement Microsoft Great Plains to manage Mobile Telecom Group's (MTG) financial and human resources records.
"We believe that the new challenges and expansion in our business across the Gulf region requires us to rely on leading-edge technologies to support our current and future business growth and satisfy our customer base effectively," said Ammar Sharaf, MTG chief executive.
"The selection of Itqan to implement our ERP (enterprise resources planning) systems was not only a result of thorough evaluation of their experience and professionalism but also because we support national companies and trust their competitive capabilities and expertise," he said.
In the first phase, the project will include the implementation of Great Plains financial modules in the head offices in Abu Dhabi.
It will also address the human resource requirements. The next phases will focus on the roll-out across other branches in the Gulf.
"We help companies enhance their financial decision-making process as well as improve the quality of their services while increasing their profitability through best-of-breed technology systems," said Sahili.
