DOHA: The Doha Magnum Toastmasters Club held an induction ceremony for its new Executive Committee members for 2008-2009.
Area Governor Girish Jain and District LGT George Thomas inducted the new set of officials. Outgoing President Ameerudeen Moulana and his team handed over charge to the new officers.
Addressing the gathering, Moulana said that Magnum Toastmasters Club conducted a Youth Leadership Programme (YLP), started a Gavel Club, and became a Select Distinguished Club within a year of its inception. He attributed this success to the active participation of the members and the dedication of the Executive Committee towards the motto of the year 'Passport to Greater Heights'.
The new Committee comprises Manzoor Moideen -- President, Kurian Kuriokose -- VP Education, Ganesh Balakrishnan -- VP Membership, Vaishali Mehra -- VP Public Relations, Lijo Jose -- Secretary, Suresh P Nair -- Treasurer and Sankareshwari -- Sgt-at-Arms.
Jain inducted the new Excom and Molulana received a plaque from Moideen.
Toastmaster fraternity pioneer Manoj Meghchiani, addressed the clubs while charter member and Past District Governor Sonny Varghese gave the keynote address. Division Governor Sudhir Pandra, Area Governors and Presidents of other clubs attended the grand function. DTM Vicky Mustafa and DTM Malini Sahani also addressed the gathering. The induction ceremony of new Excom of the Doha Magnum gavels club was conducted by the coordinator DTM Poorna Pushkala.
