DOHA: Doha Bank is to launch consumer banking services to Nepal tomorrow.
The facilities will be formally inaugurated by Manisha Koirala, a leading actress in the Indian film industry and Udit Narayanan, a popular playback singer.
Anil Shah, General Manager of Nabil Bank, best banker for 2004 in Nepal, will be the Guest of Honour. R Seetharaman Acting General Manager of Doha Bank will also be present, said a news release.
Doha Bank has consumer banking relationship arrangement with four major banks in Nepal, including Nabil Bank, Nepal Bangladesh Bank, Himalayan Bank and Nepal Investment Bank covering over 100 locations across Nepal to serve the community in difficult terrain.
Doha Bank said the advantage with this type of remittance is that customers can sit at home and send remittances to their families in Nepal. Money is delivered in 10 minutes (on a working day). Once the money transfer is processed, the remitter is notified through SMS and/or Email. Doha Bank said the objective of the new facilities is to deliver product and services to Nepalese expatriate community in Qatar.
