Dubai's International Airport is displaying the Summer Surprises spirit with its themed decorations as the first batch of visitors start to arrive.

Several dignitaries, including Mohammad Al Fardan, deputy head of the Flower Surprises Organising Committee; Abdullah Al Najar, head of the Civil Aviation Committee, and Saeed Al Naboudah, DSS chief executive, were at the airport to welcome the arriving families.

"I feel lucky to visit a city like Dubai which not only offers a celebration of new surprises every week but also welcomes visitors at the airport with such joy and excitement. My kids and I love to visit Dubai and enjoy the surprises that never fail to offer something new," said Fawziah Al Qathi, who arrived from Kuwait.

"I was thrilled by the warm welcome extended to us by Modhesh at the airport. I was delighted to see all the other ladies who were dressed up in beautiful traditional costumes, giving out flowers to everyone," said Ereen Adel from Egypt, who is visiting Dubai for the first time.

"It is a matter of pride to be welcomed this way at the airport. The reception reflects the concern for the visitors. My kids and I have great expectations and joy as this is a time for fabulous gifts all over Dubai," said Omar Ali, who came to Dubai with his family from Saudi Arabia.
