SALALAH -- The spring season in Dhofar, locally known as Al Sarb, began yesterday. The three-month season, which follows on after the monsoon, Khareef, is another time of attraction for tourists who prefer to stay and watch the beauty of nature as it changes in different environmental settings. Al Sarb heralds the harvest of many an agricultural crop, in addition to edible wild plants that grow on the mountains. Interesting places to visit are the beehives at the foot of the mountains where citizens start collecting honey.

In coastal areas, the spring season of Al Sarb is signified by a gradual change from roaring sea waves as they smash onto the shore rocks to a period of serenity which marks the beginning of the fishing season. The spring in Dhofar is a blessing, not only for residents of the Governorate but also for visitors and tourists. It is another memorable time of the year in Dhofar.
