Abu Dhabi, July 4th, 2006 (WAM) - Zayed Foundationfor Charity and Humanitarian Works (ZFCHW) today signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding with the Eritrean government under which it will carry outa project to drill wells in Eritrea at a total cost of Dhs 3 million.

The MoU was signed by Salem Obeid Al Dhaheri, ZFCHW Director Generaland Othman Mohammed Omar, Eritrean Ambassador to UAE.

Al Dhaheri said that the project is part of the 'Yanabee Al Khair'programme, instituted by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The programme is being implemented in 10 African countries, namelyEritrea, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Mali, Niger, Chad, Mauritania, Kenyaand Djibouti. It also covers Yemen.
