Number Of Kuwaitis Applying For UK Visit Visas Up
KUWAIT CITY, June 13
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved applications submitted by the aviation companies to run additional 201 flights during summer holidays and Ramadan, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a statement, the supervisor of air transportation and aviation processes Sultan Al-Showaie stated the additional flights will be introduced from June 20 until Sept 22, and noted that 58 flights will be designated to Jeddah, 43 for Beirut, and then 38 for Dubai. He also said Al-Jazeera Airways leads the operation with 45 additional flights and Middle East Airways 43, while Kuwait Airways has 40.
Meanwhile, the number of Kuwaitis applying for visit visas to the United Kingdom increased remarkably this year due to the unstable security situation in the region, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting British Ambassador to Kuwait Frank Baker.
In a recent press statement, Baker clarified the British Embassy in Kuwait has taken all the necessary procedures to speed up the issuance of visit visas despite the large number of applicants.
He said it only takes two days to process visit visas for Kuwaitis, adding that the embassy also noticed an increase in the number of applicants for multiple entry visas valid for 10 years.
