Dubai, March 25th 2006 (WAM) -- A delegation comprising 17 members of the Asia Pacific User Group of the Ericsson Network toured the Etisalat Academy, a business unit of Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat.

The Ericsson User Group members praised the modern training facilities and peripherals offered at the Academy. The tour of the Etisalat Academy provided them with an elaborate background on the training programmes available.

Rashed Haque, Additional General Manager and Head of Telecom Management Network Technical Division for GrameenPhone, Bangladesh, said, "Etisalat has a very diverse portfolio, and I am really impressed by the facilities available at the Academy. It is the first time I have ever been in an institute of this size, and look forward to being closely associated with the Etisalat Academy." The delegation later toured the classrooms at the Academy, which are being used by the trainees. Lynn Yap, Director of Marketing, Ericsson, added, "I was impressed with the facilities, I expected normal classrooms, but was happy to find them fully state of the art. I was impressed with all the vendors present under one roof and the excellent relationships maintained between them." Etisalat Academy premises are spread over an area of one million square feet. The Academy has three class Residence Hostels, offering luxurious accommodation. It also has more than sixty classrooms, Language & Software Labs and Network Labs.

There is also a unique Recreation & Sports Complex attached, providing a well rounded training environment. It also includes a real telecom network identical to Etisalat's operating network including all exchanges, equipment, services, and mobile phone systems, with Cable TV and an Earth Station for hands-on training.
