Dubai, July 25th, 2006 (WAM)--Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) recently launched the 18th issue of Dubai Commercial Directory 2006-2007, which it said had become one of the valuable and indispensable references for businessmen and traders on the local, regional and international levels, accordingto a press release issued Tuesday.
Mr. Rashid Matar, Director of Commercial Services Department in the DCCI, said that the new issue of Dubai Commercial Directory was meant to include the latest and up-to-date developments of Dubai economic sectors to enable the members of the Chamber and the local business community to make advantage of the information and statistics published in the directory. "Launching our new commercial directory coincides with the 40th anniversary of the DCCI establishment during which the Chamber coped with the developments and the increase in the number of its members and businessmen inside and outside Dubai, in addition to its commitment to meet their needs and provide them with the best quality services," said Matar. "Dubai Commercial Directory 2006-2007 is considered to be a necessary reference that covered the aspects of Dubai's rapid economic development, as well as a proper approach for those willing to open new channels of commercial cooperation and business opportunitieswith Dubai traders, exporters and importers." He pointed out that the directory, apart from its long lists of names and addresses of more than 60,000 trade, industrial and vocational companies that are registered in the DCCI, was the result of the efforts paid by the Chamber through coping with the latest economic changes and the non-stop work to provide and upgrade new services to its members and the business community. The new directory also includes useful information about Dubai's infrastructure, its social services, necessary proceduresfor practicing economic activities, licensing procedures, investment incentives at the emirate's free zones and a brief about the latest important investment projects in Dubai. The DCCI's new directory contains lists of names and telephone numbers of more than 60,000 companies classified alphabetically and according to each company's economic activity to make it easier for traders to get their information. It also contains lists of the names of companies operating inJebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai International Airport Free Zone,as well as a special section for advertisers.The DCCI has published 14,000 copies of the Dubai Commercial Directory and 20,000 related CDs in Arabic and English. It will also distribute free copies of the directoryto embassies, consulates and trade centers, in addition to business councils in Dubai, local and federal government establishments, universities, welfare and social associations,cultural and sports clubs, commercial missions and delegationsand 5-4 and 3-star hotels.
The directory includes general information about the UAE,investment opportunities and requirements of practicing economic activities, as well as the most important economic and trade exhibitions, conferences and forums being held in Dubai. The DCCI urged the business community to use Dubai Commercial Directory as a significant and trustful referenceto deal with Dubai importers and exporters, as the Chamber has worked hard to present this directory as one of its numerousvalue-added services provided to its members and those willingto make business deals with the DCCI's members.
