Amman - The Jordan Customs Department has signed a $6.7 million grant agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), under which, the latter will finance and install X-Ray Inspection systems of trucks, containers and passenger vehicles at Al-Karama Border Crossing, east of Jordan.

Director General of the Customs Department Ghaleb Sarayreh said this agreement is part of efforts to facilitate procedures, ease on passengers and enhance border security.

The customs personnel will receive training by JICA on the operation system of the new devices.
