Sharjah: The Directorate of Public Works (DPW) completed the construction of two Dh12.9 million councils in the Wasit and Muwaileh districts in Sharjah.
The Muwailh district council which will be located in Al Nawof area will serve Al Juranah, Al Qara’en and Al Nowf areas.
Engineer Helal Al Sahi, manager of the Building Projects Department, said, “Constructing the councils to serve the districts and smaller residential pockets is a clear reflection of Sharjah Government policies that aim at continuous development to achieve the highest levels of service.”
Khamis Bin Salim Al Suwaidi, chairman of Sharjah Districts and villages departments, said, “Directorate of Public Works started furnishing the two buildings so that they would be opened next month. District councils works under a direct supervision of Districts and Villages Department to enhance and strengthen social ties and relations within the neighbourhood.”
The two buildings will aim to raise the quality of services that the Districts and Villages Affairs Department provides to both Sharjah residents and citizens as well as ease their communication with governmental departments and officials.
The Wasit District council which will be located in Al Muwafjah area will provide services to six areas — Al Ramthaa, Al Qawz, Al Ramaqiah, Al Suwihat, Al Muwafijah and Al Yash.
