MUSCAT -- Apex Medical Group's $1 billion International Medical City project at Salalah will be showcased in the shape of a live project model at next month's Oman Construction Summit, the organisers revealed here yesterday. Senior government officials including Dr Ali Talib al Hinai, Under-Secretary for Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Health, will join representatives from Public Authority for Civil Aviation, Muriya Tourism Development, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Sports Affairs at the annual Oman Construction Summit to be held during January 27-29, 2013 at the Grand Hyatt Muscat.

Apex Medical Group, who are overseeing the development of the 'International Medical City', will deliver a case study presentation during the Salalah projects focus day. Dr Naeema Aziz, Project Director for International Medical City and Chief Operating Officer of Apex Medical Group commented: "Apex Medical Group is looking forward to the Oman Construction Summit 2013 as we hope that the brainstorming sessions through the three days of innovative content and exchange of knowledge will boost the partnership and concentrate efforts of the regional strategic leaders, thus assisting us to reach necessary targets". Apex Medical Group will also be showcasing the live project model for the first time.

The focus day will also include a presentation on Salalah International Airport by Salim al Yafaey, Salalah Airport Director, Oman Airports Management Company; Salalah Beach Resort Project by Christa Deiner, Vice-President -- Design, Engineering and Planning at Muriya Developments; and an exclusive site visit to the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with Omran. Key highlights of day one will include upcoming tourism and sports mega-projects in the Sultanate, which will be presented by Nasser al Maqbali, Chief Operating Officer from Omran and Khalid al Hashani, Technical Expert, Ministry of Sports Affairs. Day two will include highlights of developing housing projects and promoting real estate investments in the Sultanate. A representative from the Ministry of Housing is set to outline the latest and upcoming projects and developments taking place in the housing sector.
