Abu Dhabi, Mar. 18, 2006 (WAM) -- The UAE Central Bank will issue on Tuesday two commemmorative coins, in Gold and Silver, as wellas a commemmorative Dirham coin to mark the occasion of the official betowing of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak a new title of"Mother of the Nation", it was announced by the Central Bank.
The Gold coin, which weighs 40 grammes and 40 millimetre diametre,is 91.6% pure gold and 8.4% bronze, while the Silver coin, which willbe in AED50 dirham denomination, weighs 40 grammes in 40 millimetrediametre. It is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% bronze.
The head side of the two coins has the image of the late SheikhZayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan while the tail side bears the logo of the occasion.
The commemmorative dirham which is 24 millimetre in diametreand weighing 6.4 grammes, is 75% bronze and 25% nikel. The head side issame as the ordinary dirham coin but the tail side bears the logo of theoccasion.
The Central Bank urged all those interested in the coins to purchasethem from the banks througout the country. It said the Gold coin wouldbe sold on the basis of the price of Gold on the selling day with a surchargeof AED60, the Silver coinwould be sold on its nominal value witha surcharge of AED10, while the commemmorative dirham coin will be circulated in the normal way.
