Dubai: Retailing powerhouse Carrefour in Dubai and Emirates General Market in Abu Dhabi seem like the best places to go for cost-conscious consumers this week, the Ministry of Economy's latest price list reveals.

Carrefour scored highly in the race for bargains, offering 20 products with the lowest price in Dubai, compared to LuLu Centre with ten and Union Cooperative Society with five.
It had the best deals on big Turkish lemons, American red apples and Australian white rice, as well as certain cheese products and chicken.
Shoppers can also visit LuLu Centre to bag the cheapest mangosteen from Indonesia, eggplant from Oman, juice drink from Saudi Arabia and locally produced full cream milk, corn oil, fresh beef and boneless chicken breast.
Bargain hunters can also pop in at Union Cooperative Society to grab the best deals on boneless beef from Brazil, natural juice from Al Ain and a few toiletries.
The latest survey covered 47 products, but only those with at least two prices listed were included in the study.
In Abu Dhabi, Emirates General Market maintained its position as the top bargain dealer, offering 19 best-priced products, compared to Carrefour with nine and Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society with six.
The store had the lowest price for lemon from Turkey, mangosteen from Indonesia, rambutan from Thailand, eggplant from Oman, white rice from Australia, unshelled pistachios and walnuts from Iran, among others.
