Located on the Palm Jumeirah, the interior of the spa is suitably masculine to comfort even the most insecure man. The generous use of dark brown wood adds to creating a warm and pleasant environment, and the minty and citrusy fragrances they use won’t leave you smelling like a flower patch.

Chocolate’s Valentine’s Day offer, the aptly named Royal Treatment, starts with a full-body exfoliation. The heat from the steam room goes some way towards loosening tense muscles, before one is covered in mud from the Dead Sea, wrapped tightly in plastic and left to stew. This is arguably the hardest part of the treatment — yes, at first it’s rather challenging to clear your mind of the day’s worries, but before long the heat and the soothing aromas lull you into submission, and before you know it, time as a concept has no meaning for you.
After a spell of gentle scrubbing and rinsing, a body mask is applied and the steam treatment is repeated. The muscles in the body are kneaded throughout in preparation for the next step: a shower and dry before a full-body massage. Here the masseur takes his time, deftly working stubborn knots into submission. From here, you drag your seemingly spineless body to recover in a relaxing lavender-infused Jacuzzi.
After this comes the grooming. A shave and a haircut later, it’s on to the so-called paws and claws with a manicure and a pedicure. Finally, a facial aimed at masculine skin complaints, such as razor burns and in-grown hair, rounds it all off. By now he’ll be all gooey inside and an easy target. Now, you won’t take advantage of that!
