Dubai-based developer Nakheel is expected to complete the schematic design for the USD 680.60 million gated community in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai by the end of October 2014.

"The [yet-to-be-named] project is currently in the preliminary design [stage] and expected to commence its schematic design by the first week of August 2014, with the completion of design by end of October," a source told Zawya in an exclusive.

The construction tender will be released by the first week of November and the contract is expected to be awarded by the end of this year.

Nakheel has signed a contract worth USD 7.3 million with Dubai-based Arif & Bintoak Consulting Architects & Engineers for design and engineering services on the project.

The community will feature 1,000 villas comprising 900 three- to five-bedroom villas for lease and a separate resort-style complex of 100 serviced homes with private swimming pools; the latter will be managed by a hotel operator.

Spanning 232,000 square meters, the community will include a club house and a retail center with shops, cafes, a community pool and sports courts.

The project is due for completion by the end of December 2016.
