DOHA: BNP Paribas celebrated its 35th anniversary and announced the relocation of its offices to Al Fardan Towers, as part of its strategy to enhance service delivery and to be closer to its clients.
The announcement was made during the official inauguration, attended by H E Sheikh Abdulla bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB), Jean-Jacques Santini, Global Head of International Retail Services - Emerging Markets, clients, government officials, ambassadors, media representatives and senior staff members.
Commenting on the occasion, Sheikh Saud Al Thani said: "At the QCB, we are actively working on enhancing regulations, to meet the growing demands and evolving infrastructure needs of the financial sector. As we celebrate with BNP Paribas Qatar their 35th anniversary, we are pleased to notice their growth and continuous contribution to clients and the development of our country.''
Also speaking at the the special occasion and commenting of BNP Paribas' new premises at Alfardan Towers, Jean-Jacques Santini said: "Our relocations to Al Fardan Towers is a significant milestone in the continuous growth of BNP Paribas.
While the bank has been operating in Qatar for over 35 years, this move re-confirms our commitment to the region, Qatar, our clients, our staff, and local community. The GCC is one of BNP Paribas' key markets, due to its financial power, fast accelerating openness and its increased sophistication; we are all devoted to it at the global and local level."
The bank has been operating in the region with a presence in Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The teams also cover Oman and Yemen.
BNP Paribas in the region accounts for approximately 670 employees working for three core business lines of the group - Asset Management and Services, Corporate and Investment Banking, and International Retail Banking.
