AMMAN (JT) - Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi on Tuesday received Sudan Presidential Adviser Ibrahim Ahmed Omar, who conveyed a message to His Majesty King Abdullah from President Omar Bashir, according to a Royal Court statement.

The message dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields in addition to the latest developments in Sudan and the region, the statement said.

During the meeting, Omar conveyed the Sudanese president's greetings to His Majesty and his keenness on boosting ties with the Kingdom in all spheres, expressing his appreciation for Jordan's support of Sudan, the statement said.

At a press conference yesterday, the Sudanese envoy said his country will respect the results of the ongoing referendum regarding the separation of southern Sudan.

"Over the past few months, there has been an environment that has instigated the call for separation, with support from European countries and the US," he said.

"We are committed to 'the South point of view', and we will continue to call for a unified Sudan, in line with the message that Sudan's President Omar Bashir addressed to the world," he noted.
