President of Kurdistan Regions, Massoud Barzani and the head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, Ammar al-Hakim agreed on Wednesday to return the political process back on track, taking into account participation, balance and compatibility.

" Barzani received al-Hakim in Salahuddin resort as well as his accompanying delegation, noting that the two sides discussed the Iraqi political situation , relations of the federal government and Kurdistan and the developments in the region, as provincial elections in Iraq and its consequences has been reviewed," a statement by Kurdistan Regional Government, received by "Shafaq News" said.

"Barzani briefed the delegation on his point of view about the relations development between Kurdistan Region and the federal government".

The statement quoted Barzani opinion on the results of the provincial elections that "the elections proved the high level of citizens' awareness and that they are able to take a decision on their fate".

For his part, the head of the Supreme Council, Ammar al-Hakim, said that "the results of the provincial elections proved that the first thing that matters for citizens is security, stability and services and that they reject all kinds of tyranny".

Ammar al-Hakim and his accompanying delegation were received on Tuesday, in Erbil International Airport by the President of Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani , Deputy Prime Minister , Imad Ahmed and head of Presidency of Kurdistan Region Office, Fuad Hussein.
