MUSCAT: Bank Sohar's second branch in the Dakhliya region opened for business at Bahla yesterday. Sheikh Ahmed bin Amer Al Shaqsi, a known businessman in Bahla, was among the first customers to open an account and he was privileged to have the luck of opening the door of the branch to other customers for the first time.
Bank Sohar has a total of 17 fully operational branches in their branch network and several more in the pipeline. Bank Sohar comes to Bahla just a few weeks after it opened for business in Rustaq.
"Bank Sohar had just one outlet when we opened our business for the first time in April 2007," said Khalfan Rashid Al Taley, DGM - Bank Sohar.
"Our network went through a rapid expansion in the first year in business and then had to slow down to ride the economic down turn. We are back with determination to complete the bank's expansion plans all over the country - we have network expansion targets for 2010 and we will complete all of them."
"We feel proud and honoured to open for business in this ancient town which is also Oman's first heritage site acknowledged by Unesco. Today, Bahla is also a developing centre for tourism. The bank has come to Bahla with a strong and empowered population of men and women familiar with the nuances of trade and commerce. It will be Bank Sohar's privilege to interact and work with them and enable them to take their aspirations further through the products and services that we have on offer."
Product promotions
"Bank Sohar comes to Bahla at a time when there are several product promotions on offer for customers," added Al Taley.
"The Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme 2010 offers some high value prizes between now and the end of the year. The draw for the mega cash prize of RO 240,000 takes place at the end of September.
The September draw leads to the year end prize of RO 440,000 - the single largest prize money in Oman this year. There are monthly prizes and a special prize of RO 240,000 exclusively set aside for high net worth customers."
In addition to the savings schemes, there are two credit card promotions with attractive prizes - one for new card customers and the other for card use.
All that residents of Bahla need to do is to walk in to our new offices for information and the refreshing experience of banking with a bank that offers the best in town.
