Hamedan - Bangladeshi Ambassador to Iran Khandakar Abdus Sattar said on Saturday that the establishment of Iran-Bangladesh commercial committee is a great stride in line with promoting economic cooperation. In a meeting with president of Hamedan province's chamber of commerce, he noted that his country is keen on developing commercial cooperation with Iran.
He further noted that the committee will help promote bilateral ties to a considerable level.
Stating that hemp is the main export of Bangladesh to Iran, he added that merchants of the country can export the product to Iran within the framework of mutual cooperation with appropriate price.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Abdus Sattar underlined development of cultural and educational cooperation and said that given the two countries' cultural and religious commonalities, the universities have strong ties as 70 Bangladeshi students are currently studying in Qom seminaries.
The head of Hamedan Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Majid Mousavi, for his part, said that a seminar on investment will be held in Hamedan next year.
He said that Avicenna (Bu Ali Sina) Univeristy in Hamedan is ready to exchange students and professors with the Bangladeshi universities.
