DHC-Shair secure contract

Bahrain Investment Wharf (BIW) yesterday signed a contract with international firm Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (DHC)-Shair and Partners, assigning the supervision for dredging and land-reclamation work. The contract was signed between Laith Al-Memar, BIW vice-chairman and managing director, and Bassam Shakhshir, DHC director of operations, in the presence of Muhannad Al-Durrah, company chief executive officer;   Yazan Haddad, company project director; Mohamed Khalil, projects manager (Tameer) and Khaldoun Hinedi, area manager for the consultants.

The managing director said: "For the rapid development of the project, we are keen on assigning highly professional organizations that can meet the international quality standards  we maintain." He also added that BIW has started to receive applications for land reservation from various industries, factories and commercial properties assuring the good progress of the project.

DHC will supervise the dredging, land reclamation and revetment works for BIW. Shakhshir said: "We have skills for developing, adapting and transferring the latest high-tech planning, engineering and design techniques to indigenous and existing conditions in emerging environments.

"BIW is a dream project that will not only contribute to the economy of Bahrain but will affect the business affairs of the region."
