In a step aimed at preparing successive generations to serve the country, Bahrain Islamic Bank (BIsB) has provided the opportunity for an extensive number of national male and female graduates from the University of Bahrain (UoB) to benefit from their summer vacation by obtaining new practical experience that burnish their university certificates and hence qualify them to enter the labour market if they wish.

A. Hameed Alhammadi, BIsB senior manager, human resources and services, said: "The bank is keen every year to open its doors to male and female graduates from the UoB to get their practical training in order to complete their practical and theoretical curricula required for graduation.

"We are pleased that we were able this year to accept 12 female and seven male graduates, out of which 11 are holders of BSC certificates and the other eight are diploma recipients, and we hope they will be able to complete the practical and theoretical training designed for them," he added. All those accepted by BIsB have started their practical training at the beginning of the month where they enrolled in a short induction course through which they get acquainted with bank operation, its services, differences between Islamic and conventional banks, and the characteristics of Islamic banks.

They were assigned to different sections at headquarters in addition to a number of the 12 branches throughout the Kingdom.

Alhammadi stated: "Our previous experience with UoB graduates makes us keen to repeat the opportunity every year. There is a reasonable number of male and female graduates from this university working full time at BIsB which makes us give them the opportunity to prove themselves and their capabilities, hence having the honour to work for this well-established bank."
