MUSCAT -- Oman-based Atyab Investments has pumped in a whopping $50m (approx) to establish one-of-its-kind bakery aiming to cater to the region with the best quality products. The bakery located in Barka was opened under the auspices of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry and was attended by people from various ministries, private sector companies and businessmen.

The full-fledged operations of the Atyab Bakery, spread over a massive built up area of 24,000 sqm making it Oman's largest bakery, will cater to the growing needs of the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC. "One of the prime reasons for initiating this mega project is to produce and make available top quality bakery products to all the households in the Sultanate", Said Ali Habaj, CEO Atyab Investments told the Observer.

He added that the company has put in place effective workforce, supply chain management and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production and distribution processes. "Atyab Bakery has put together a team of thorough professionals who have years of experience and are well acquainted with the nuances of running a bakery of this stature".

Atyab Bakery, the first industrial bakery in Oman, has the capability to produce more than 200 different products including snacks, fresh and frozen items. It is a one-stop-shop for all the bakery needs of its customers. This mega bakery has already achieved HACCP and ISO22000 health and food safety certifications. Manal al Abdwani, Chairperson, Atyab Investments expressed her confidence when said the bakery was the largest in Oman and among the top bakeries in the GCC, if not the world for its immaculate production system.

Atyab Bakery has a fully automated production facility. Manned by 300 plus diversely skilled workforce, the bakery has an hourly production capacity of 24,000 buns, 5000 sliced breads and 12,000 Arabic breads. In addition to several automated production lines with capabilities to produce numerous varieties of cakes, puffs, muffins, croissants, sweets which are sold under the brand name 'Dahabi'.

Future plans include supplies to world-renowned fast food franchises, hotels, eateries along with hypermarkets, supermarkets and the corner grocery stores. The bakery has already made forays into the UAE market.

Oman Floor Mills Co SAOG, Sohar Floor Mills Co LLC, Modern Poultry Farms SAOC, Atyab Poultry LLC, Atyab Bakery LLC- The Art of Baking, The BreadHouse LLC, Atyab Grains International, American Institute of Baking, technical and Quality Centre are the other sister concerns of the Atyab Investments.
