Dubai - Haji Abdul Razzak Yaqoob, Chairman of the ARY Group of Companies, has awarded the contract of the ARY Aurum Plus, a modern gold refinery and jewellery manufacturing facility, to Metac Gen Contracting Company.

ARY Aurum Plus will use the latest technology to help in establishing Dubai as an epicentre for the global gold industry.

"With this unique refinery, we are proud to be able to contribute to the grand vision of Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Makhtoum. We would like to thank the Dubai Government, and especially Sultan Ahmed bin Suleyam for his guidance and support in our endeavour," said Razzak.

As a first in Asia, the facility will also provide tourists and visitors a chance to witness first hand the entire process of refining gold and manufacturing jewellery with special glass walk ways spread across the premises.

ARY Aurum Plus will consist of a gold refinery with a capacity of 200 tonnes per annum. The facility will also use automated and high end equipment for minting coins, small and large bullion bars, detailed crafting, cutting and polishing of 18k, 20k and 22k gold jewellery as well as diamond and precious stones jewellery.

The premises will also comprise of in built staff boarding and lodging accommodations along with a recreational areas. The total build up area for the complex will be 300,277 square feet.

The design concept is a blend of Islamic/local and modern architecture to ensure that the outlook blends with the high profile development in the vicinity. The architectural style is achieved by utilising the GRC moulding/grills and GRC key stones corbal with stone finish exteriors. The project's architectural consultants are Shamsi Engineering Consultants.
