MUSCAT -- His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has received greetings cables on the occasion of the Prophet's (pbuh) birth anniversary from King Abdullah II of Jordan; President Zain Al Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia; Field Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Basheer, president of Sudan; Dr Bashaar Al Asad, president of Syria; Mahmoud Abbas, chairman of the Palestinian National Authority and chairman of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation; President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and ruler of Al Fujairah; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, crown prince of Al Fujairah; Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, prime minister of Bahrain; and Sheikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, deputy ruler of Al Fujairah.
His Majesty the Sultan also received cables of greetings on the occasion from members of the royal family, the chairmen of the State Council and the Majlis Al Shura, ministers, advisers, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), undersecretaries, the Sultanate's ambassadors abroad, ambassadors of the sisterly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries and a number of citizens from the Arab and Islamic countries, sheikhs, dignitaries and citizens.
They expressed their sincere greetings and best wishes of continuous health, happiness and a long life to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people further progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Majesty.
