The fourth Desert Rose Festival will be inaugurated on Tuesday by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.

The exhibition will showcase the work of Applied Media Students at the Abu Dhabi Women's College (ADWC). It is supported by the college and sponsored by the Kanoo Group and Union National bank.

Visitors will be able to see an extensive selection of media works ranging from magazine layouts, packaging materials, CD and book covers to interactive websites, photographs, radio shows and news articles.

Videos produced by the students can be viewed throughout the duration of the festival, which will extend until the end of the month.

Nicholas Gara, director of the ADWC, said yesterday the festival also demonstrates the students' practical skills in event coordination management, marketing and promotion as well as their skills in the fields of graphic design, multimedia, audio, photography and journalism.

"Second-year students coordinate the entire event including design and distribution of promotional materials," he said.
