TEHRAN - Amine B Unit of Karun Gas Sweetening Refinery, commissioned concurrent with the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations, has become fully operational after 7 days of pilot production, commissioning director of Amak Project at National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) Hushang Maleki told the Persian service of ISNA on Saturday.
"The unit is capable of sweetening 120 million cubic feet of sour gas per day to be pumped from gas pressurizing posts located at operational domain of Karun and Marun factories. It may then transfer gas and liquid gas to 700 and 800 factories in Ahvaz," he said, adding that the posts would be coming on stream by June 2006.
The obtained liquid gas is going to provide part of the feedstock for Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC) and Razi Petrochemical would receive its own share after commissioning dehumidification unit in the second stage, Maleki maintained.
Amak Project is the largest environment friendly oil venture of the upstream oil industry in the country initiated as a rough draft back in 1995 as a buyback deal.
