MUSCAT -- Commencing operations nearly 35 years ago, various divisions of the Al Khalili Group, now famous as one of the largest Omani enterprises in the fields of building materials, technology, construction, electrical, hardware and lighting, have transformed into a multibillion dollar enterprise. Al Khalili's business philosophy has always been succinct, clear uncompromising quality and unsurpassed value, a company press release said.
In a recent restructuring, all divisions were brought under one umbrella -- Al Khalili United Enterprises LLC. "The move infuses a great organisational strength even into new ventures", says Shaikh Talal bin Salim al Khalili. Areas that the group proposes to venture into include construction of office buildings, hospitals, judiciary buildings, college campuses, multi-storied complexes and commercial housing projects as well as light industrial projects for end users, developers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Spearheading the management team is Florida-educated Shaikh Qais bin Salim al Khalili, ably supported by his brother Shaikh Talal bin Salim al Khalili. Group Managing Director, Shaikh Qais bin Salim al Khalili said: "We have always placed our efforts on development of infrastructure with aggressive marketing and keen accounting policies. It has propelled the company in achieving its goals. Al Khalili has had good growth, and the future looks bright".
A position of leadership has emerged through a committed philosophy about acquiring new international brands, some under exclusive dealership arrangements. Alongside, the group has invested heavily in its 1,700-strong human resource team, giving staff a professional ambience. This has resulted in the group registering about the lowest employee turnover in the Sultanate. The Al Khalili group has brought major international building materials and power tool brands into the country including Fujitsu (Germany), Clipsal (Australia), Avonite (USA), Grass (Austria), Karcher (Germany), AEG (Germany), Telwin (Italy) and many other reputed international brands.
