MUSCAT -- Al Hassan Engineering Co SAOG (AHEC) recently received the latest version of Quality Management System, namely the ISO 9001:2008. AHEC first received Quality Management System accreditation to ISO 9000 series in June 1996. Since then, after every three years validity period, AHEC underwent recertification to the relevant prevalent ISO 9000 system versions and sustained ISO certification continuously.
In June 2009, AHEC's Quality Management System was audited in accordance with the revised latest series of ISO 9001:2008 and is now certified to the series. "We are proud to have obtained such a prestigious designation," said Peter Hall, CEO of Al Hassan Engineering Co SAOG. "ISO 9001 is the most recognised standard for Quality Management Systems in the world and serves as confirmation that our quality programme is among the best in the industry."
Over the last two decades, AHEC has established an excellent track record of being a prime Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor and construction partner in executing complex jobs in its core business sectors of Oil and Gas (Midstream and Downstream Segments), Power Generation, Electricity Transmission and Distribution, Industrial Infrastructure, Maintenance of Oil and Gas installations and Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
AHEC has to its credit, a range of welding qualifications for Carbon Steel (CS), Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS), Stainless Steel (SS), HDPE Fusion Butt welding, Aluminium welding, Alloy steel welding (P11, P22, P91, etc), Dis-similar materials welding, Hot Tapping, Hydrotesting, GRE Jointing and an excellent track record for its quality achievements. In September 2008, AHEC obtained the coveted ASME "U" and "S" stamps for its fabrication works at Muscat.
The ASME "S" Stamp is for the manufacture and Assembly of Power Boilers while the ASME "U" Stamp is for the manufacture of Pressure Vessels. Hall said, "The recertification to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards is a reiteration of AHEC's commitment to continual improvement, a link towards excellence."
