Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that traffic diversions have been made at Al Garhoud Bridge and the Bowling Intersection to ease traffic jams in the area.

The traffic flow from Al Garhoud Bridge is now separate from traffic coming from other areas.

Engineer Badr Al Sairi, Director of Traffic at the Traffic and Roads Agency said that this measure aims to ease the traffic congestion, which results from the overlapping traffic flow arriving from Al Garhoud Bridge heading towards Sharjah [in red] and traffic from Bani Yas Road [in blue] and Al Rebat Road [in green].

Boards

"Motorists coming off Al Garhoud Bridge and heading towards Sharjah are required to abide by the directional and traffic boards which offer the option of continuing on Al Ittihad Road or driving through to Deira, before accessing Al Garhoud Bridge," said Al Sairi.

According to these diversions, traffic from Bani Yas Road and Al Rebat Road heading to Sharjah will not have access to the underpass at the junction of Airport Road with Al Ittihad Road, also known as the Bowling Junction.

Al Sairi called upon road users to abide by directional boards and comply with speed limits. This would help achieve the vision of the RTA to secure safe and smooth transport for all.

"Introducing these diversions stems out of the keen desire of the RTA to provide smooth transport," said Al Sairi.
