KUWAIT, Oct 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) said Tuesday it has signed an agreement providing that Al-Ahmadi hospital, its employees, and assets goes under the authority of the Oil Sector Service Company (OSSC).

This is to implement the resolution of the Minister of Energy Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.

The company said in a statement that KOC Board Chairman and Managing Director Farouq Al-Zanki and his OSSC counterpart Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled initialled the agreement.

Senior officials of both companies and the President of the employees union in KOC Dulaihi Al-Hajri were present for the event.

Al-Zanki said the agreement contributes to reducing the load on KOC to enable it to focus on its integral role in exploration for and producing oil and gas.

Dulaihi Al-Hajri affirmed that the employees' rights will not be affected.

Deputy managing director for administrative and financial affairs in KOC, Ali Dghaim Al-Shemeri said the agreement has been officially implemented since the 1st of October, 2006 and contains all the employees in Al-Ahmadi hospital.

He added that the committee has exerted tremendous effort over the past months to guarantee the rights of employees.

He also stressed that KOC supports other oil companies and that it is keen to help boost the national economy.
