Ajman, April 12th, 2006 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin RashidAl Nuaimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Ajman attendedthis evening a ceremony held to celebrate re-launch of the sewerageproject.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Numaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipalityand Planning Department said in a speech read on his behalf byAyad Matar that two new partners, Veolia Water of France andBesix Group of Belgium According to the terms of the award the project is to be implementedon the basis of a build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme.

Sheikh Rashid also praised Sheikh Humaid's gesture of pledgingDh 130 million to compensate shortage in service fees.

He regretted withdrawal of UK's Thames Water from the projectas a result of the company's new policy to cut down its overseasinvestments.

The project's estimated total cost is Dh 830 million (225million US Dollars) and is expected to be completed in 33 months.
