The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADCM) has extended the deadline to buy auction documents for the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model community souk project at Al Rahba.
The deadline for document 181/2013 has been extended to 13 February from 2 January, 2014.
The closing date for submission is 18 February, 2014.
Only 100 percent national firms and establishments specialized in investments and property development can participate in the auction.
"We will shortlist the auction participants after evaluation," an ADCM official told Zawya without giving any timeline for the outcome of the auction process.
In October 2013, a statement issued by ADCM said it was inviting private sector investors to develop and operate a network of new community centre projects in Al Rahba, Al Wathba, Al Falah and Mohammed bin Zayed City on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.
While the Al Wathba, Al Rahba and Al Falah projects will have a built up area of nearly 13,000 square meters, the centre in Mohammed bin Zayed City will have a built up area of 25,000 square meters with an option to develop and integrate the neighboring outdoor park.
Approved developers will be granted rights to utilize municipality land through a musataha agreement for a period of 30 years to develop and operate the community centres.
