Abu Dhabi, July 30th, 2008 (WAM) - The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, announced today that it has completed the deployment of the latest release (R12.04) of Oracle E-Business Suite in a recorded time of 30 days. The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council was established in September 2007 and is the agency responsible for the future of Abu Dhabis urban environments, and the expert authority behind the visionary Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 Urban Structure Framework.

The implementation at the Urban Planning Council automates all aspects of routine finance and human resources management through 11 E-Business Suite modules. Such a support allows the Urban Planning Council to devote the requested time and investment to the core activities of its business; in addition, it provides management with accurate and up-to-date information and business intelligence reports.

This initiative has leveraged the Government-wide Enterprise Lisence Agreement that the Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Committee (ADSIC) established with Oracle in August 2007. This agreement enables Abu Dhabi Government Entities minimize redundancies and maximize synergies in procurement, deployment and support of systems and applications related to the Oracle family of products and services.

Falah Al Ahbabi, General Manager of The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, said, "The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council oversees the urban development across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, implementing principles, guidelines and policies laid out in the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, so automating our Finance and Human Resources processes provides a single perspective on all our staffing resources across the board and allows us to shift focus from administration to strategic planning and execution of the Abu Dhabi 2030 plan".

Abdullah Al Sahi - Deputy Director Corporate Services, of The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council Project Manager, added "By choosing an integrated Finance and Human Resources approach, with modules covering various functions from Procurement to Payments, Hiring to Payroll, UPC has secured long-term cost and efficiency savings.""Thorough preparations, excellent cooperation between all project partners, and the efforts of our own team, we achieved a successful implementation in Record time 30 Days", Al Sahi confirmed.

In this respect, Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, ADSIC Chairman, stated, "Building on the strategic vision for a service-oriented Government in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and by virtue of the Government-wide agreement, Oracle will provide their products and services to all Abu Dhabi Government Entities at preferential terms. We are certain that running Oracle solutions will arm the Abu Dhabi Government with tools that will enable more efficient operations and which will in turn help enable better decision-making and responsiveness."Offering a UPC view, Ahmed Al Mazrouei, UPC Senior HR Manager, further added "Oracle E Business Suite is a critical element of our strategy to maintain operational excellence in all aspects of our business. The implementation is the first stage of an extensive enterprise resources planning (ERP) system initiative, which UPC is deploying in a record time to support the council rapid growth "Added Ahmed Al Mazrouei.

"We are delighted to contribute to the success of the implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite for UPC. We are genuinely proud to have helped select, design and deploy these critical applications for a regulated environment," said Walid Nsouli, ADSIC Project Manager.
