Abu Dhabi Documentary Film Club at Anasy Media Production is screening on Tuesday, 28 April 2013 at 07:00pm at Zayed University Old Campus, "Chasing Ice" a documentary film, directed by Jeff Orlowski, a winner of the Hot Docs Documentary Festival, Run River International Film Festival, SXSW Film Festival, Excellence in Cinematography at Sundance Film Festival, at Zayed University Old Campus.

The documentary film will be launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Zayed University and Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion with Ronnie Gallagher ? Environment & Regulatory Engineer at ZADCO and moderated by Dale Hudson PH.D ? Faculty Fellow in Film & New Media at NYUAD, Digital Curator at FLEFF and Advisory Committee Member in ADDC.

Chasing Ice is a 2012 documentary film about the efforts of photographer James Balog and his Extreme Ice Survey to publicise the effects of climate change, directed by Jeff Orlowski. It was released in the United States on November 16, 2012.

The documentary includes scenes from a glacier calving event that took place at Jakobshavn Glacier in Greenland, lasting 75 minutes, the longest such event ever captured on film.

Balog is National Geographic photographer.
