RIGA, 20th March, 2014 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister has visited the Freedom Monument in the capital of the Republic of Latvia, Riga.
During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgar Rinkevich. Sheikh Abdullah listened to an explanation of the monument, which was built by Latvian Sculptor, Carles Zali, established in honour of the soldiers who were killed in the Latvian Independence War, and symbolises freedom, independence and the sovereignty of Latvia. The national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Latvia was played by a military band and Sheikh Abdullah reviewed a Guard of Honour. Sheikh Abdullah was also accompanied by Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, U.A.E. Ambassador to Germany and Non-resident Ambassador to Latvia.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2014.
