ABU DHABI, 17th December, 2013 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has honoured Dr. Sheikha Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Sheikha Rawda bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan and Sheikha Sheikha bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, in recognition of their roles in supporting literacy programmes.
This came during a ceremony honouring governmental and social institutions supporting and participating in the "Abu Dhabi Reads" campaign launched by the Abu Dhabi Education Council during April this year. The campaign aimed to spread the culture of reading among school students and the local community in general. The honours, made in the presence of Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), came in recognition of Sheikha Shamma's outstanding role in supporting the literacy programmes through library of Future Generations Library and the Mobile Library.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
