Abu Dhabi, 27 Dec. 05 (WAM) - Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ministerof Information and Culture, praised decisions by General Sheikh Mohammedbin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister tobuild an opera house and two museums in Dubai.

"Such decisions usher a forward vision to reflect our country's civilisationand the drive to achieve progress in the cultural and historical dimensions.

Such projects will add value to the UAE's achievements and help Dubaito become a cultural hub," Sheikh Abdullah said.

He noted that the decision to set up the opera house and museums cameon the heels of Dubai International Film Festival 2005, which has receiveda huge success.

"Cultural projects keep UAE well connected with the worlds' culturalcircles and enable it to take contribute in promoting global heritage.

The UAE is open to diverse world cultures," Sheikh Abdullah added.

He said the move to build the opera house and museums lays a new responsibilityon the Dubai Cultural Council to help realise Sheikh Mohammed's visionof a bustling cultural atmosphere in Dubai and his dream of seeing UAEas regional hub for culture.
