Trident Grand Residence (TGR), the fourth freehold residential project from Trident International Holdings (TIH), has sold 90 per cent of the project in the two weeks since launch.
Consisting of 253 condominiums and luxury penthouses, the project attracted a diversified set of buyers. Launched on July 30, Trident claims to have attracted an even mix of investors from International to UAE and Gulf-based buyers. Besides institutional investors, a significant number of individuals have also invested in TGR.

Leigh's Paints wins DFC deal
In a deal worth Dh1 million, Al Gurg Leigh's Paints won the contract to supply high performance coatings worth to protect the new Dubai Flower Centre (DFC) at Dubai International Airport. Leigh's paint was used to protect DFC's steel structure measuring approximately 75,000 square metres. Leigh Paints have a long history with Dubai Airport. The Dubai Airport Exhibition Centre and permanent air show hangars were painted with Leigh's protective coatings in 2000. The mechanical workshops and peripheral building on the new concourse at the Dubai Airport are fire protected with Leigh's Firetex intumescent systems. DFC, due to open in December 2005, has been designed as a fast-moving hub for flowers and perishables.

Maghreb firms to take part in Gitex
The Maghreb's internet and communications companies are getting ready to participate in Gitex 2005, some for the first time. The Maghreb region is made up of Morocco Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania. Its IT and telecommunications market is growing and will be worth Dh4.77 billion ($1.3 billion) this year, an increase of 15 per cent over 2004. According to research firm IDC's projections, the Maghreb region's IT market is dominated by hardware systems with 39.4 per cent, followed by IT services with 23.8 per cent and packaged software with 13.8 per cent. Peripherals, networking equipment and storage products make up the rest of the market. Morocco has confirmed a contingent of nine companies will be participating in Gitex.
