The High Commission for the Development of Riyadh (HCDR) has awarded a contract to Al-Mabani Contacting Company for constructing a bridge at the intersection of Eastern Ring Road with Oruba Road.

The 750-meter-long bridge would ease traffic flow from ring roads to the city center through the application of nontraditional solutions. The bridge will have two lanes that will lead traffic flow coming from south on the Eastern Ring Road going in the western direction into Oruba Road, with U-turn access.

The project also includes introduction of lighting works, guidance system, paving, and landscaping plus linking the traffic system with the new traffic system currently applied at the Oruba Road extension project across Riyadh Air Base.

HCDR is set to finalize a series of road projects crossing Riyadh Air Base (RAB) east to west and from north to south, where Abu Bakr Saddiq Road (South) will cross RAB to meet with Salah Al-Deen Ayubi Road. The Oruba Road intersection with King Abdulaziz Road will also meet with Abdulrahman Ghafqi Road as it intersects with the Eastern Ring Road.

Upon completion, the project will, hopefully, raise traffic capacity for Abu Bakr Saddiq (South) and Oruba (East) Roads to 560,000 cars per day and, further alleviate traffic on the Makkah, Eastern Ring, King Abdulaziz and King Fahad Roads.
