New Delhi, May 15, IRNA - For the recognition of Nahjul Balaghah among the common people, the 25th Nahjul-Balaghah Conference and presentation of "Hazrat Ali National Award 2011" distribution ceremony was held on Saturday evening at Imamia Hall in New Delhi. Inaugurating the conference, S. Hasan Ahmed, Vice Chairman, Central Haj Committee said: Nahjul Balaghah, the greatest literary masterpiece ever contains the details of the creation of the Universe to the day to day advice given by Imam Ali (A.S.), this book is a must read book." 

Terming the sacred book "ocean of knowledge", Hasan Ahmed who is also the MLA said that Nahjul Balaghah provides a gateway into the mind of the wisest and most learned man ever to walk the earth, after the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself. 

Speaking on the occasion representative of Velayat-e-Faqih in India, Hoj. Mehdi Mahdavi Pour, who was presiding the conference said: "Nahj-ul-Balagha on the one hand speaks about the fundamental of Islam such as the matters concerning Allah Almighty, the human being, Islamic views of humanity, prophet hood and its position in human history a means of understanding Islam. 

On the other hand, it refers to the social problems of a hypocritical society with which we deal today. This sacred book is a source of inspiration for us as regards to the social and political problems of life and the possible solutions to them." Thus it is necessary for us to study it thoroughly, he added. 

Meanwhile, Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawwad Naqvi, General Secretary, Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, Chief Guest of the conference, speaking on the occasion said that Nahj-ul-Balagha does not only reflect the spirit of Islam and the teachings of the Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the proper perspective, but also serves as a guide for humanity to traverse the future in the light of these teachings. 

Professor Hasnain Akhtar, Arabic Department Allahabad University, Pofessor Tanveer Chishti, Maulana Mumtaz and syed Mohd Hasnain Rizvi, General Secretary All India Ali Mission also addressed the gathering on the auspicious occassion. 

They, in once voice strongly recommended that it is a must read book not only for muslims, but all those who search the meaning of life and wisdom. 

Later-on the prestigious "Hazrat Ali National Award 2011" was presented by the eminent personalities to the seven persons from different walks of life who had contributed significantly in their respective fields to emerge a source of inspiration to rest of the society. The awardees were S. Hasan Ahmad Zaidi, Waqar Mehdi Rizvi, Dr. Amanat Husain Naqvi, S. Shaukat Abdi, Agha Abdullah Ameeri, Dr. Ghulam Asghar and Nayaab Hallauri. 

A Memonto was also presented to Hoj. Mehdi Mahdavi Pour by Kalbe Jawwad. 

The conference, organized by Nahjul-Balaghah Academy and All India Ali Mission Lucknow, was attended by the large gathering of religious scholars and academics. 

The Nahjul Balaghah 'Peak of Eloquence' is the most famous collection of sermons, letters, tafsirs and narrations attributed to Hazrat Ali (A.S.), the first Imam of Shia faith and cousin and son-in-law of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 

Known for its eloquent content, it is considered a masterpiece of literature in Shi'a Islam, second only to the Holy Qur'an and Prophetic narrations.
